The movie is about a African American policeman who gets involved in to a crime scene in Mississippi. The movie depicts the racial situation of that time. It has a good story and pretty interesting to watch. The movie won 5 academy awards: Academy Award for Best Picture, Academy Award for Best Actor - Rod Steiger, Academy Award for Film Editing - Hal Ashby, Academy Award for Sound - Samuel Goldwyn Studios, and Academy Award for Writing Adapted Screenplay - Stirling Silliphant.
