Never Give up

Posted by maneesh On November - 29 - 2010

One day I decided to quit...I quit my job, my relationship...I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God. "God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?" His answer surprised me... "Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?" "Yes", I replied. "When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said. "In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see. I would not quit." He said. "Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle." He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots" "I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you." "Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful." "Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high" "How high should I rise" I asked. "How high will the bamboo rise" He asked in return. "As high as it can" I questioned. "Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can." I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

Never Give up...

Age of a man

Posted by maneesh On November - 29 - 2010

God created the donkey and said to him. "You will be a donkey. You will work un-tiringly from sunrise to sunset carrying burdens on your back. You will eat grass, you will have no intelligence and you will live 50 years."The donkey answered: "I will be a donkey, but to live 50 years is much. Give me only 20 years" God granted his wish. God created the dog and said to him: "You will guard the house of man. You will be his best Friend. You will eat the scraps that he gives you and you will live 30 years. You will be a dog. " The dog answered: "Sir, to live 30 years is too much, give me only 15 years. "God granted his wish.

God created the monkey and said to him: "You will be a monkey. You will swing from branch to branch doing tricks. You will be amusing and you will live 20 years. " The monkey answered: "To live 20 years is too much, give me only 10 years." God granted his wish.

Finally God created man and said to him: "You will be man, the only rational creature on the face of the earth. You will use your intelligence to become master over all the animals. You will dominate the world and you will live 20 years." Man responded: "Sir, I will be a man but to live only 20 years is very little, give me the 30 years that the donkey refused, the 15 years that the dog did not want and the 10 years the monkey refused. " God granted man's wish

And since then, man lives 20 years as a man, marries and spends 30 years like a donkey, working and carrying all the burdens on his back. Then when his children are grown, he lives 15 years like a dog taking care of the house and eating whatever is given to him, so that when he is old, he can retire and live 10 years like a monkey, going from house to house and from one son or daughter to another doing tricks to amuse his grandchildren. That's Life. Is'nt it?

Office boy at a company

Posted by maneesh On November - 29 - 2010

A jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at XYZ company. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test. "You are employed." He said." Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start." The man replied "But I don't have a computer, neither an email. " I'm sorry", said the HR manager, "If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job." The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the Operation three times, and returned home with $60. The man realized that he can survive by this Way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles. 5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied, "I don't have an email". The broker answered curiously, "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?!!" The man thought for a while and replied, "Yes, I'd be an office boy at a company!"
Moral of the story:
M1 - Internet is not the solution to your life.
M2 - If you don't have internet, and work hard, you can be a millionaire.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days and weeks passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.

It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue: There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy.

Why our Prayers doesn’t seem to be answered

Posted by maneesh On November - 29 - 2010

This story will tell u why. There existed 3 trees. 1st tree wanted itself to be made into a Chest so that it can store treasures such as Gold , Diamonds etc. The 2nd tree wanted itself to be made into a strong ship so that it can carry Kings and Queens in it. The 3rd tree just wanted to be very close to God.

People came and cut the 1st tree and made into a small offering box instead of a chest. The 2nd tree was made into a boat n not a ship. The 3rd tree was just cut down and was kept somewhere. So the trees thought their wishes couldn't be fulfilled.

But God was watching. Years later the 1st tree which was an offering box was presented to a baby born in a manger. The tree couldn't have asked for more. Isn't it The greatest Treasure anyone could have had to be presented before The new born king.So The 1st tree's wish was fulfilled.

2nd tree which was made into a boat once while traveling in the seas was caught up in a storm. People started got scared but a Man rose up and commanded he sea and the winds to be calm and everything was calm once again. So the 2nd tree, which wanted to be a ship so as to carry King's and Queen's in it, just being a boat carried The Greatest king that ever lived on the surface of the earth. So 2nd tree's wish was also fulfilled.

The 3rd tree was cut into two, just dragged on the streets, was taken up to a mountain and was fixed there. The tree was carried by Man,who took it up to a mountain called Calvary and The Tree was fixed there and this Man was nailed to the tree. His name was Jesus. The 3rd tree wanted to be very close to God.How much closer can the tree get to God ,for God Himself being nailed into it. So the 3rd trees wish was also fulfilled.

God will surely answer our Prayers but not in the way we want but in the way God wants. God says "I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about a future full of hope".So just wait on The Lord. The Word of God says people who wait patiently for the Lord will be taken up on eagle's wings. God loves each and everyone of you as if you were His only son or daughter. So He will deliver you of all troubles .He is The biggest chaos manager .whatever goes wrong in your life God will turn it for your own good .Just be with God that's all He asks of you. God Bless

Don’t let the cups drive you, enjoy the coffee instead

Posted by maneesh On November - 29 - 2010

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups : porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups." "Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change." "Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it." So don't let the cups drive you...enjoy the coffee instead.

A nice story

Posted by maneesh On November - 29 - 2010

A child falls down, hurts its knee and cries loudly. The mother rushes to him and immediately picks him up from the ground, tenderly washes his wound and applies medicine and also gives him a laddoo to eat. The child stops crying and feels happy.

The next day the child cries again. The mother is working in the kitchen. She acts as if she has not heard him at all. He goes near the kitchen door and cries again. But the mother doesn’t see him at all. The child becomes annoyed and asks the mother. Why is she not responding to him like the previous day. The mother smiles and replies. "Yesterday, you were crying for me.

Now you are crying for Laddoo only".

Likewise, God is our father who has brought us to this world. He knows what to give us and what to avoid. If we cry for his blessings, he will immediately rush to us. But if we want only material things and cry for that, he will simply keep quiet.

Walk by faith not by sight

Posted by maneesh On November - 29 - 2010

One day a 6 year old girl (daughter of Devotee) was sitting in a classroom. The Teacher was going to explain evolution to the children. The Teacher asked a little boy

Teacher:: Dear Kid ,do you see the tree outside?

Kid : Yes.

Teacher: Dear Kid, do you see the grass outside?

Kid : Yes.

Teacher: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.

Kid: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.

Teacher: Did you see God?

Kid: No.

Teacher:: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. He doesn't exist.

A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The Teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy:

Little Girl:Dear Friend, do you see the tree outside?

Kid : Yes.

Little Girl:: Dear Friend do you see the grass outside?

Kid : Yessssss (getting tired of the questions by this time).

Little Girl: Did you see the sky?

Kid : Yessssss

Little Girl: Dear Friend, do you see the Teacher ?

Kid : Yes.

Little Girl: Do you see her brain?

Kid : No

Little Girl: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she must not have one! So If she does not have any brain , she is not capable of teaching us so Please don’t believe her.

"Krishna's Devotees can feel his existence in their life. Walk by faith not by sight". and How can so sinful people like us expect to see Bal GOPALA with mundane eyes ??

We are so sinful so that’s why we are separated from Krishna and send in this Ghor Kaliyuga. Can’t you feel Existence of Krishna in your Life. ??

A Second Chance in Real Life

Posted by maneesh On November - 29 - 2010

H.G. Nanda Gopa Prabhu a Brahmachari Trainee had a wonderful experience recently. He recalls:

After distributing books in the local trains I was going to Murlidhar Prabhu 's clinic for dental work. Bh Gauranga Prabhu was with me. When we reached the Sion square we saw an amazing incident.

A man was running to catch a bus which had slowed due to red signal. When he reached the bus and caught hold of the door-bar, suddenly the signal turned green and the bus which had not completely halted roared off. The man ran along with it for some time trying to jump on, but then slipped off and was dragged along.

Then he let go the handle bar. The last I saw of him was his head disappearing before the huge rear wheels.

“He is gone! Alas!” I sighed and turned to Gauranga. “ Krishna !” he fell silent. Then suddenly the man reappeared from the bus, which had screeched to a halt. He came out looked around in a dazed way as though still under shock and came and sat on the side walk.

“This man needs a book,” I said to Gauranga and ran off with my book bag. “Hey wait!” Gauranga shook his head.

“Are you ok sir?” I reached out to the man. “Ah…yes,” he was still shaking out of fear.

I dusted his clothes and spoke some soothing words. He seemed little more comfortable.

“This is your re-birth, isn't it?” I said.

“Yes, yes,” he nodded.

“God really saved you; He has given you a second chance. Now please don't let go of this chance and thank Him. I have this book by Srila Prabhupada on reincarnation,” I handed him a ‘Coming Back'. “Please take this as a token of thanksgiving to the Lord, and read it and practice it.”

The man nodded and took the book.
