Wake up

Posted by Trivikram On July - 30 - 2010

Wake up.. Wake up... Do you know what are you doing? Do you know where are you going? Voice asked by myself to me. This was the voice of my inner self. It's very common that we ask these question to ourselves and also very common that we ignore this question. Do we actually care what we hear or what our voice asks us? I guess we do.... but.. after a minute we get ourselves diverted for our actions without thinking where will be moving and also think that we have time for what we want to do. Actually do we have time, let's take a look -

An average person's life will be 60 years or 21900 days or 1,31,4000 hours.

If an average person sleeps for 8 hours a day then in 60 year sleeping hours will be 175200 hours which will come to 7300 days or 20 years so remaining will be 40 years. Do we have time? Let's see...

During our school days till graduation which comes to 22 years we don't have an idea what we are doing and for what we are doing in some cases like for graduation we would be having a clarity of questions but for most it's still an either unanswered question or worst unasked question.

So we will remove 22 years from remaining 40 years and we will be left with 18 years or 6570 days.

If we have completed our graduation then it will be our moral responsibility to opt for job and work for 8 hours which will be on paper but off the paper we can't stay but still we would consider 8 hours as standard so we will be at office doing work either we like it or don't then fighting with office politics, lobbies, bossism, egoism and everything therefore it forces us to reduce 38160 hours which means 1590 days which is 4 years.

So we will remove 4 years from 18 which leave us with 14 years.

We work a lot, fight a lot so we ought to take off on weekends on calculation there are 100 weekends in a year so for 14 year we will be having 1400 days of weekends and that is 4 years.

So we will remove 4 years from 14 years and will be left with 10 years.

I guess lot of calculation has been done so we will take sometime off for family, friends, relatives, recreational activities like movies, drama, games, picnics, family outing so time for that can be considered as 4 hours on an average which will would 1060 hours in an year and 10600 hours in 10 years which will be 442 days or 1 years

So we will remove 1 year from 10 years and will be left with 9 years.

With all calculations and many more manipulations our end days will be exhausted and say before 2 years we will be all exhausted.

So we will remove 2 year and will be left with 7 years,

Now, let get back to our previous question do we have time for what we want to do? We also know that it’s never too late for begin what we want to do. So next time you hear something don’t ignore it’s your voice. Wake up! Wake up!

This is a real incident that happened in a local hospital in Bangalore, India. A 4 year old girl was admitted due to leg fracture.

As it was an open fracture, she had to undergo an operation to stitch the protruding bone back in place. Though it was quite a minor operation, she was hooked on to life support system, as a part of the process. The doctors had to input some data prior to the operation to suit different conditions. Thereafter, the operation proceeded. Half way through the process, the life support system suddenly went dead. The culprit: - Some one was using his/her hand-phone outside the operation theater.

And the frequency had affected the system. They tried to track the fellow but to no avail. The little girl, young and innocent as she was, died soon after.

* Message*: "Be compassionate! Do not use your hand phone /mobiles especially at any hospitals or within the Aircraft or any places where you are told not to use it.. You might not be caught in the act, but you might have killed someone without knowing". Sometimes it's a matter of Life & Death....!!!!

Ropes used to tie elephants

Posted by maneesh On July - 29 - 2010

As I was passing the elephants, I suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not.

I saw a trainer near by and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

"Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free."
